Dr. Pautler graduated with high honors from the University of Florida where he was inducted into Phi Eta Sigma honor society. He obtained his retina training at the prestigious Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami. He continues to participate in clinical research and is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of South Florida. He has been elected by his peers for inclusion in Best Doctors in America- 1998 to 2024.
Since completing his formal education, Doctor Pautler continues to participate in education. He is a principal investigator in clinical research and was appointed Clinical Associate Professor at the University of South Florida College of Medicine, where he was awarded the Alumnus of the Year award in 2019. He teaches courses to fellow ophthalmologists at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, which culminated in his receiving the Achievement Award in 2017. Dr. Pautler has published over 50 peer-reviewed medical articles including book chapters on various ophthalmic topics.
